From the Marshall County Farm Bureau:

MAKING THE AG CONNECTION

To help youth better understand how agriculture impacts their lives, Marshall County Farm Bureau was one of five applicants in the state awarded a Literacy Challenge grant from the Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation (IALF).

The theme of "Libraries Rock and Agriculture Rocks and Rolls!" ties into the statewide summer library reading program. Our volunteer-driven program offers county libraries the opportunity to include ag education as part of their summer youth programs. Topics include careers, beef and dairy cattle, hog production, harvest, soil and planting, conservation, dairy and vegetables.

Fast-paced, fun and free, each 90-minute to two-hour program will include a video, book, reading selection, and a hands-on activity as well as the Ag Across Iowa trailer with its tractor sim and interactive displays. The book will be donated to the library.

We are looking forward to bringing this program to your library this summer!

Don't miss the tractor simulator & other fun & educational options! June 26, 3 PM – all ages
