Your Library Card

Who can get a library card, how to apply, and how to use your library card.

  • All borrowers must be registered and must have a valid local or system patron card to borrow library materials.
  • Patrons must fill out an application form to register for a new library card (account).  The following statement will be printed on the registration form for the patron acceptance:
      My signature on this card indicates my agreement to follow the Library’s rules and policies in exchange for access to the Library’s collections and services.  I accept responsibility for all the materials charged to this account, including fines and fees assessed to it.  I will report as soon as possible a change of address or telephone number.

  • Identification is required.  A driver's license or student ID is preferred, however, any other ID or recent no personal mail may be acceptable.
  • The application form may be picked up at the checkout desk
  • Applicants under 13 years of age must have a parent or guardian give their consent on the application form before a new card (account) can be issued.  This parental signature is not required for children who are renewing cards (accounts).
  • Materials cannot be checked out until you have a card (account) issued.  Then if you intend to check out items, you need to have an ID with you - driver's license, student ID, etc. just until the librarians recognize who you are.
