Temp. Part-Time Library Assistant Opening

Employment will last at least 10 weeks from date of hiring at a rate of $8/hour for at least 14 hours weekly.

After training, you will be expected to run basic daily services without direct supervision. May be asked to work on weekend or odd hours, especially for programs. Mask-wearing and COVID safety procedures must be followed.

Applicants will assist with daily operations, including but not limited to:
friendly customer service, reference transactions, material and records maintenance both physical and digital, program and display work, organization and janitorial duties, travel for posting and pickup.

16 years or older and working on or completed a high school education or equivalent. Possession of a valid Iowa driver’s license preferred.

Basic digital skills, including use of office software such as Microsoft Word, email, and willingness to learn about library/other software and social media. Literate in written and spoken English, able to follow written and spoken instructions, and able to effectively communicate.

Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds without issue. Climbing, pulling, lifting, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, and repetitive motions, along with long periods of sitting or activity, are typical.
